GI Beach 9/19

2 Attachment(s)
Went out today around 4 water was green and the tide was coming in pretty good. The bite turned on around 5:30 all on top started losing a few trout to sharks so I decided that the best course of action was to reel the trout in as fast as I could this worked for a few fish. Around 6 hooked a nice one got her about 3 feet away, and then momma shark showed up ate her off spook in all. I was a little shaken up so I decided to move down to the next set of rocks about two steps back towards the beach she came back for the stringer. I then started walking on water stringer in tow made it to the beach got in the truck and left. The good news is the trout are on the beach, and I learned my lesson on the reeling faster thing that didn't work. Attachment 40487Attachment 40488

That's why I haven't made a trip to the beach wade fishing. I dont think this fat boy could get on plane and I don't feel like being shark bait. Lol

Nice catch - you just can't reel fast enough some times.

DUCKGOGETTER 09-20-2012 07:12 AM

Nice fish!

shellman 09-20-2012 08:53 AM

Nice haul....

Garfish 09-20-2012 01:19 PM

Nice catch!! They always seem to bite the biggest fish on the stringer! It used to happen to me sometimes wading the surf. That's a bad feeling when it seems like you're the bait. That's why I use a Do-Net instead. Don't know if it's been good luck or what. Never have had a shark since.

I hate seing them swimming along in front of me when standing in the surf. Had a trip on Elmer's Island in May and I saw 3 swimming parallel to shore right in front of me. Also had a couple cut of my soft plastics on 50# braid that day.
