Went to my camp in big Cane this weekend and took my little boy squirrel hunting Saturday morning. Missed both evening hunts due to watching LSU and da Saints. Got busted by a deer Sunday morning but never saw it. I pulled my camera after the hunt and got a few good pics..

You don't have any doe on your lease?

RaginCagin 10-06-2009 07:19 AM

We are about 10 miles east of sugar house.

We do have does and that is usually all we see until the rut starts close to January.

longsidelandry 10-06-2009 09:57 AM

That's some nice deer!

What model Stealth Cam is that ? My old camera crapped out so I went to Bass Pro and got a Cuddeback Capture I R. Took it out the woods after 2 days and brought home and what a disappointment. The only pictures were grainy, the other pics had like 3 shots mixed in a collage looking thing and some were 'whited-out'. I expected much more from a high end camera. I hurried back to Bass Pro and swapped it for a Stealth Cam Sniper Pro. I am hoping for better luck. Why can't they test those things before they box em up ? Sorry about the 'rant'. Nice photos and nice herd of bucks...

We are in Big Cane which is between Plaucheville and Bunkie. To get to palmetto you take the lebeau exit and go down to stellys and go right. To get to big cane we go to stellys and take a left. Not far apart though.

It is a V450. The V jsut means it has a viewer on it to look at pics. you can get the i450 without the viewer for a little cheaper. I have been satisfied. The trigger speed is a little better than average but if on feed you have no problems. It takes very clear pics also. My only complaint is battery life sucks. It goes through 6 C batteries in about 2 weeks.

Jordan 10-07-2009 09:06 AM

i have a small battery re-charger.... makes it cheaper that way.... Does it have a solar hook up ???

my battery charger is similar to this ...... http://www.onlybatteries.com/showite...t1=11&uid=1468

yak'em-n-stack'em 10-07-2009 09:09 AM

solar would be the way to go, good idea jordan

Jordan 10-07-2009 09:11 AM

i got solar powered battery chargers on my deer feeder and deer camera.... its so much easier, u aint gotta keep going in and out of the woods and leaving scent... just hook it up and its easy and simple after that...

wtretrievers 10-07-2009 09:12 AM

I bought some small solar panels off of ebay for under $20 & rechargable batteries & hook it up to my cameras. Havent had a problem since. A good camera will suck batteries.

Jordan 10-07-2009 09:15 AM

true... i forgot to mention to make sure to get re-chargeable batteries, their a little more expensive, but they pay for themselves !!!!!

RaginCagin 10-07-2009 09:25 AM

It has a plug in for a 6 volt rechargable batter which I bought last year and it worked great until the squirrels chewed the wire i tried to rewire it but it wont work. I could go 2 months between charges. Would a solar charger plug into the same hole on the camera? Not familiar with the solar chargers.
