Good possum recip?Attachment 41676

Came back from a football game and this big boy was trying to get into my chicken coop........ No threat to my chickens will be taken lightly.

Dispatched him with Gamo .177 pellet rifle. 1 shot is all it took but I let him have 3 just in case he might have been playing possum.

I shot one with my bow late one night. It was up about 25' in a tree at a steep angle from where I was standing. After I shot, it sounded like it was raining. Then several seconds later I hear a "plink-plink" type noise. I walked to the back street [~100 yards] and found the arrow in the street. I was shooting almost straight up and thought the arrow would not go nearly that far.

The opossum hit the ground about the same time as the arrow....minus a bunch of blood.

This one found a couple of arrow too.

This is the second one I kill in the last couple months, I'm in the middle of a cane field and a cow pasture so I guess that's expected.
