Deer Slaughter (WARNING::::BLOODY PICS)
6 Attachment(s)
Made a quick trip to the field to sight in rifles this past saturday. Got them all (my .270 and my buddie's 3 guns) sighted in at 100 yards by noon. Decided to make a quick scouting trip and found the deer sign not less than 400 yards into the woods. We made up a game plan and put it into play on Sunday AM. Climbed 20 ft up an oak tree and my buddy was sitting 500 yards away in a ground blind. About 8:55am I seen a flash of brown running, get gun up and catch butt end of deer. Put phone away and got ready, 5 minutes later this doe and spike walk out about 90 yards away. Tried everything I could to get the doe to stop, grunt, whistle, yell, nothing...... Shot her on the walk, blew both legs out front under her. She took off like a freight train. Looked back and seen spike still standing there, put a bullet in his neck and he didnt move a muscle. Had to climb down and track the doe about 1000 yards. Didnt hit any vitals, just blew legs almost off. Doe died with a 7 mag bullet and another shot from my .270 to the head. All in all, a good day AND in my BACK YARD on private land. Pics suck due to sun rays, plus we were in a hurry to clean them. Doe weighed 120lbs and spike was an easy 75 lbs.
