If the winds out of the north the canals get real shallow especially low tide. THe reds have been good on the outgoing tide. Mostly on the drains and grass.

In the worm there are some holes that are 20 + ft deep. Around each corner after bay tom. Reds are in there for sure.

Hey King Mackerel
Was that on shrimp on the bottom, or under a cork? I almost never get any redfish bites, but I guess I don't work the banks. Thanks.

Marsh island is great place to fish year round....If your do not know the inside I would fish the north bank. Inside has some very shallow mud flats, even worse this time of the year. But if you troll along the north bank say from the game warden camp to the west you will be fine.

Looking at Google map I see theres a dam down the canal by the game warden camp is it safe to drive down there?

There is two weirs/dams....there is a few mud flats to watch for but they are marked with arrows (the game warden aka bird island bayou canal) if you stay in the middle it is fairly deep 5-12 foot.

check out he island using http://www.flashearth.com/ the areal photos are clear and were taken during an extremely low tide so you can see the areas that are safe and the ones that are not.
Be careful.
