Boat Storage

What are you guys paying for boat storage?
What would like to see in a perfect world where you store your boats?

Bluechip 12-17-2012 08:59 PM

Are you asking about a boat house with a lift or a individual storage unit?

southern151 12-17-2012 09:00 PM

It's free at Paul Myers house! LOL!

...sorry, I had to say it!

I think the guy on hwy 42 (can't remember his name just now....senior moment) at Port Vincent is at $125 but it's a major dust bowl in the summer. There is another enclosed facility at the end of Summerfield Rd (guy named Roland) I used to keep a boat there and it was $150 per month. Covered boat sheds on the water with a lift is a total different animal.

southern151 12-17-2012 09:45 PM

Are you looking for local or near the water?

fishinpox 12-17-2012 10:03 PM

Sounds like u are opening a place?? If so ill rent as long as there is power, water , place to wash boat , private storage so others can't climb all over my boat

southern151 12-17-2012 10:20 PM

Is that your new facility on airline toward Sorrento? Nice place if so!

simplepeddler 12-17-2012 11:10 PM

No, wished is was........I am looking at a small place in Sorrento..........four five boats at most......will have water, concrete to for wash down, place to clean fish, and shower. trying to figure out what guys are paying.....Pox it will have seperation between stalls.
Not sure I can pull it off, but money is dead in the market.......so real estate can't be all bad.

simplepeddler 12-17-2012 11:12 PM

Oh, and it will be total concealment......roll up doors.........concrete floors.........

"H" 12-17-2012 11:25 PM

I'm guessing $100-150 per month depending on size. There is an enclosed storage facility in Prairieville just off Airline getting $300 per month to store large motor homes. I'm with you peddler, can't beat real estate investments. A dollar sitting in a bank account is worth less everyday it sits there.

Call Ship to Shore on Lake St. in Lake Charles and ask them what they charge for boat storage. They have a place next to the Ellender Bridge.
That might get you an idea how much to charge.

"H" 12-18-2012 08:15 PM

Ray, I called them one time a few years back.
I think was $225-250 range if I'm remembering right

Boat Storage Info

We have a couple storage units we rent in Lafayette that we charge $200 for. We could probably get a little more but it's all people we know. They are 15x50 with roll up doors, concrete floors, electricity and two 100 ft. hoses for washdown purposes. Hope this helps even though its not in the same area you are talking about.
