Gonna make a trip in the morning to big lake, are live bait still available at Calcasieu point? Thanks.

Shrimp are still plentiful where ever u see bird's workn. Cast net baby quick limit.

you don't need live shrimp this time of year. just about any soft bait thrown under a group of birds will yield fish.

Fish an artificial shrimp under a cork at daylight. If there are fish there, they will bite it.
I hate fishing live or dead bait. It's too much trouble.
In the fall, the fish are thick, looking for shrimp.

I went today and caught limit on chartreuse salty grub on 1/8 oz lead head. Sorry to disappoint but no birds working however fish were holding well on reefs on the north end
