Local guy - national news
 

I know some on here don't take kindly to LEO, but this story is about one of my supervisors and he is the most humble man I know. I call him my "brother from another mother", but in reality, he is the man right next to me going through a door with guns drawn, not knowing whats on the other side. Mike has been in law enforcement for over 20 years, and was awarded the officer of the year in 2012, even before this story broke. Even when things go bad, he is the voice of reason and has an amazing ability to de-escalate a situation.

Proud to know him and call him a friend!

Good story, I honestly believe 98% of LEO's are for the good of the people it's the 2% that give them a bad rap.

Man, this story has been viral on FB. It's a great story of humanity and, I'd love to have the chance to shake the man's hand. He made that young man's world with this act! Kudos to your friend Brian! Many, many kudos!

It never did go on locally. Blaise's mother sent a message via Facebook to KPLC in Lake Charles, then Facebook tookover. 365K hits later, ABC news contacted her, then all the other majors are jumping on the bandwagon. Fox News just finished their interview 30 minutes ago.
