Mardi Gras & Designated Drivers

On a serious note guys - this time of year is filled with good times and parties. That's what Louisiana is suppose to be. Please take a minute and plan accordingly. Get a designated driver for your trip - wherever it may be. Some friends have gotten together and pooled some cash to pay young college kids to drive them which is a great idea. One guy has hired a driver to pull his float, another great investment.

With the fatalities that spiked last year at this time, area law enforcement will be out in full force - on land and water. I can tell you this, I much rather call a ride for someone than writing a DWI while on duty due to the time it takes. However, word has been passed down to all agencies, no free rides.

BTW - one of my rookies made an arrest on a female bringing her kids to school - 4th offense DWI at 7:30am!

Have fun guys - but be smart!

On my way to work this morning about 6:50. Guy in a white jacked up diesel dually getting field sobriety test on an on-ramp to 2-10.

Good advice here FFF. This past new years me and some friends split a cab to go down town and back. First time I had ever been in a cab in Lake Charles.
