Valentine's Day Redfish 02-14-13

Made a trip out to the water today with my buddy Ken and with all the talk of the red fish tournament this weekend it put us in the mood to look for red fish. Since I have to work this weekend. We fished from Moss Lake to Joe’s Cove. We fished some of the coves off of the ship channel and we also fished in Big Lake by Turners, Texaco cut and in the middle of the lake. The water in the lake is still dirty, but started to look better the further south we went and the temp was running from 59 to 61 degrees. There was no wind today and it made the fishing nice, there was bait everywhere, but more concentrated towards the middle of the lake. We caught fish on every stop and had a mixed bag of six trout which were nothing to brag about and twelve red fish. All fish caught today were tagged and released to fight another day. The red fish in the pictures were the average size caught today. The bait of choice today was the vudu shrimp in pink, 5 inch wedgetail mullet in pink and white an black and the Kick A Mullet in pink/chart and clear/chart. Should be a good weekend.
