Boat cleaning

Anyone buff/polish and wax their own boat?? If so what all materials do you use?

Also does anyone know of a good boat detailer in the New Orleans area?

I clean with a good fiberglass boat wash.
Wax with 3M Fiberglass Cleaner wax and a high speed polisher.
Polish with Rejex and an orbital polisher.

For non skid, I clean with Soft Scrub once a year, then wax with Aurora Sure Step.
I clean with Attwood non skid deck cleaner and a brush every time I go fishing.
It doesn't remove the wax from the non skid.
You don't have to have a bucket with the Attwood. Just a brush and hose.

That attwood is good stuff. I started using it last year and it makes cleaning non skid decks really easy

Yep, must wet down, squirt and scrub. Let sit a minute and rinse off.
When I first started using it, it was around $4/bottle. Price been going up last couple of years.

What do you mean by non skid surface?

That rough stuff on the floor. Holds crud in them cracks.
Not the slick fiberglass.

Thanks Ray! I've got my parents 2001 Sailfish and it needs some TLC. I don't really want to pay some one 600 bucks to polish and wax it so that means I need to do it. The boat hull itself isn't that bad but the helm is fairly oxidized.

Ill probably pick up a variable speed polisher from harbor freight(I know I know) then I need pads, polish, and wax.

colinite boat wax is the best wax imo
