Fried Catfish & Shrimp and Stuffed Peppers

Well today being Good Friday and in keeping with the "no meat eating tradition on Friday during the Lenten Season" we felt like eating fried catfish and shrimp. I also had some bell peppers stuffed with rice and crawfish etouffe which went on the grill.
Before getting started with the food preparation it was time to start things off with a cocktail and something different with Blood Oranges. I went with Blood Orange Margaritas. These came out fantastic and I can kick myself for not making them more frequently.
These aren't the frozen kind. I used a half gallon canning jar to mix up the batch you see in the background.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love my outdoor deep fryer? Catfish perfectly fried!

Some of the shrimp.

Time to eat!
We made poboys with fresh bread I went and picked up at Binder's Bakery and using a jalapeno pepper tartar sauce I whipped up.

Those margaritas were so darn good I had a quart of blood orange juice in the fridge so I just made a double batch for later this evening.
