Time to get those plants in the ground

Today is the day to plant your garden!!! Just dropped all my seeds and plants in the ground. Who else has a garden going? I went crazy. Got corn, tomatoes, egg plant, beans, purple hulls, green bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, Tabasco peppers, chile peppers, jalepeno peppers, banana peppers, potatoes, cucumbers, watermelon, squash, green onions, and okra.

I am going to wait one more week. We have another cold one coming

Country Boy 03-30-2013 12:57 PM

I'll wait until I see the pecan trees sprout

I put my seed in the ground back on 3-18 and put out some bell pepper and tomato plants a few days later.

I covered the small plants a few days during that cold spell. 3 of the tomato plants got a little "freeze" burn.

About 3/4 of the seeds have come up.

I planted.....green beans, yellow squash, Zucchini, cucumbers, lettus, radish and onions. I will plant some more radishs and lettus in a couple of weeks.

I need to go water the garden again......can't wait for the rain.

I'm giving it one more week as well...

All peppers this year, tired of battling the "Wal-Mart Birds" (Grackles)... They roost in my neighbors bamboo and love my tomatoes !!!

Got my plants in the ground. Shoulda waited a little longer. Freeze killed my cucumbers. Looks like everything else is gonna make it so far.

Msucowpoke51 03-30-2013 05:38 PM

Also waitin a week .. Gettin a little impatient tho haha

FF_T_Warren 03-30-2013 06:16 PM

I was goin to wait about a week and a half but according to the almanac today was THE day to plant. Above ground crops, root crops, transplants, and seed beds were all good to plant today.

AceArcher 03-30-2013 08:27 PM

tomato's (w/ marigolds), green & jalapeno pepper's, eggplants, green and yellow beans, basil and dill all went in the ground yesterday. Gonna wait another week on the cucumbers, and got some lettuce, spinach, and radishes that are just about ready for harvest.

gonna be some good yummy's in the tummy's soon!

my son planted his garden today also. Quite a few people coming into the nursery the past few days, complaining about losing their stuff they had planted earlier, especially cucumbers. Our pecan trees are starting to bud down her already,so we should be good to go.
