East side trout

Looking at the picture and reading the article I thought it was going to be alot bigger fish but says it was only 5.5#. He sure gave alot of info on the spot. He is going to have potlickers all up and down that highway.

Potlick city coming, nice fish but darn thats a big write up for a 5.55....i agree i thought it would be a 9-10#er lol

"W" 04-08-2013 10:31 AM

I did as well and thought the fish would have gone much bigger than that.

I think Josh submits reports on a frequent basis for New Orleans publications.

Lake Chuck Duck 04-08-2013 10:45 AM

Oh, so yall know the guy in the pic?

mcjaredsandwich 04-08-2013 10:47 AM

Looks bigger because he's holding it close to the camera. Solid fish for a drain ditch.

T-TOP 04-08-2013 10:47 AM

i think his scale may have been off a little...... or a good photographer..

Yes. We all fished together in a few tournaments several years ago.

Lake Chuck Duck 04-08-2013 10:51 AM

The caption under the pic was misleading

"Josh Hall caught this monster speckled trout Saturday evening while fishing off of Highway 1 in lower Lafourche Parish"

Its a nice fish, i'm not trying to hate. But a monster? I dont know about that, assuming that weight is correct.

Sightwindow 04-08-2013 12:12 PM

Seven lbs is a monster for the area. And, well, we're talking about it, right?

All about the page views these days.

No, we are talking about a 5.55lbs fish that took 10 minutes to reel in.

And you right about page views, everybody and their brother are going to be lined up on Hwy 1 fishing the drain pipes now.:rotfl:

Clampy 04-08-2013 12:40 PM

They can have that hole. It ain't near as good as others Down that road.

Shoot, my bad. The nola dot com writer has lots of space to fill. A five # caught off the bank in SE La in a place that's not Venice or Ponchartrain is a pretty big deal, especially when someone is willing to give up such info.

meaux fishing 04-08-2013 01:41 PM

Im surprised Josh is giving all that up

fishinpox 04-08-2013 02:35 PM

ive know josh for a few years.. he is a great angler! i know where he is fishing .. ive caught many large trout in that same spot when its to windy to fish out of the boat...bait will be so thinck there that flounder will be busting minnows on top!

ChrisD 04-08-2013 02:40 PM

There's no fish down there just rat reds

southLA 04-08-2013 02:53 PM

Meh. As far as telling his spot, it's pretty common knowledge around there that you can get those trout during those times of flow. Nice fish though.

What he said. Every once and a while you get one worth talking about.

I know most of y'all over there are "Nice fish, but *** is the big deal?" but the lady who caught it is easy on the eyes.

Lake Chuck Duck 04-08-2013 04:38 PM

I saw that one too. I am friends with the writer on Facebook. Nice fish
