offshore bachelor party trip

alight guys im gettin married in 2015 and my buddies were thinking of an offshore trip for the bachelor party i know its almost two years away but i want some input on the best places to go for the best price. We were thinking a two day in venice but i dont know how the guides are down there im looking for some input and suggestions.

Why offshore? It your bp but wind and seas can sure kill a buzz quick. We rented a camp in BL and we had a blast. If you don't know it hire a guide first day to show you and then roll ur self. Or hire em both days. I like blue water but its a looooong boat ride in when its windy.

im good friends with most of the guides at rod and gun and some other guides and i deckhand on the nightboat for rod and gun during the summer so having a party there wouldnt be a problem but the reason for offshore is to go after something big lol. But being close to home is always a plus.

Big trot!!! Capt Bruce! I hear ya I guess it depends on the time of year. March n April make for some beautiful days but the wind howls alot. June/July be better for that sorta thing. Venice would be way to go IMO. Don't have to go as far to be in deep water.

Venice or Grand Isle. Just get Married in the Summer that way you can do an overnighter a couple weekends before. The money you would spend on a hotle goes into the charter.

Cajun made charters. He has his own marina and from what I hear puts a lot of Tina on the deck.

Clampy 04-25-2013 07:55 AM

Ed Freaky out of fourchon

Clampy 04-25-2013 08:02 AM

Don't listen to Gizzle he gets scared when he can't see the bank.

Lance Walker, Ed Frekey, and Chris Moran are the only ones out of GI/Fourchon that are good tuna fishermen. Venice has more options on guides but there is nothing to do there but fish

Top Dawg 04-25-2013 09:10 AM

Chris Moran is the one with Cajun made charters

BGizzle my nizzle keep this in mind.

I had me and 5 of my buddies lined up to take a snapper trip 4 weeks before my wedding. We were supposed to meet at my house and leave at 4 to be in LeeVille for 6 to head out. 2 days before we supposed to go he calls and puts on standby with the weather, next day he calls and cancels.

We reschedule for the Friday 2 weeks before my wedding. The Wed before he calls and cancels again this time because he hit something coming back across Catfish Lake. and blew a seal on his rudder shaft?

What I'm saying is it may have been a string of bad luck...... if we would have been in Venice the night before he decided to cancel we would have been up **** creek without a paddle and no back up plan because all there is to do in Venice is fish. I would look into leaving out of Grand Isle or Orange Beach where you have more options if something falls through last minute.

Call Ed Frekey great guy I deckhanded for him for two years he will put you on some fish keep in mind sometimes the day tuna trips produced better than the overnighters

ChrisD 04-25-2013 04:07 PM

Overnight trip + fuel + fish cleaning will run you around $500-600 a person for 6 people depending on how far you go and sea state not cheap but better than drinking that money away on Bourbon St.
