Quick hit

Not working today so I decided to play. Took the little boat out and dunked it in the water.

Went straight to a small patch of nearby marsh grass about the size of a small cape home. Made a few casts looking for a redfish. As I trolled around it I got a short strike. It seemed like a trout bite. The next cast I land a speck. This is the first trout I have caught in 2 weeks that was over 12. It was 13 1/2 inches long. If none other the cats would get a good meal tonight. The next cast I get a good fish. At first I thought I had a redfish but that thought changed quickly when the rod started dancing like a trout. The difference was this fish was digging deep and had shoulders. I found instant cellabration when I flipped a nice 19 incher into the boat. It was at this time I realised I left the camera in the truck. Thunder started in the background and I got a glimps of lightning off in the distance. I was not far from the docks and at 45 mph I could be in quickly so I just kept an eye on the skys. The next cast another yellowmouth. From there on it was big fish ripping the hooks out of their mouths more than I put them in the boat. Birds were sitting on distant posts but none feeding above the trout. I gave it about 30 more minutes and headed to the barn with threatening skys trying to beat me to the dock. Ended up with 8 trout. the second smallest was 16 inches and the biggest was just over 20 inches.

There is a cat at the dock that is auditioning for a spot in our home. He has even applied for a deckhand job on the Freedom Avenger.

Buddy and Sushi are all we want but this guy is being very pushy and follows me all over the place when I am down there.

Life is Good!
Fishing is not a matter of life or death. It's more important than that.
