Called into work this morning to make a beach trip. Made the mistake of stopping at the rocks just west of holly beach. Had to paddle down bout 2 miles to start finding em... Pick up 2-3 fish per set of rocks.... Lots of dinks mixed in... Managed a limit by 11... Water was beautiful today... Best ive seen it in two years for sure! Most fish caught on topwater.

It wasn't such easy pickins today so don't worry about it. Water wasn't nearly as good as I have seen it before. If we would have had one more day of north wind it would have been On. I ended up with 7 trout and 3 reds but had to really work for them, SlidellKid had 5 trouts and 1 red. There was no pattern all morning, usually they will make a move but never did today. Next north wind I'll be back down there looking for them.

The further west you went the water was cleaner.

Hard to move location with a yak when wind prediction was for it to change at 10. Should have called me, would have made it there by noon.:D

That's why I like Mae's. If you have 4x4, you can go as far west as you want.

Agreed, I was in the boat today, made the long run from my camp.

Would go with another truck but that's an expensive tow if you ever bury it.

You right about that. When I was young and dumb we would go a good 10-15 miles back there in one truck. Had so many bull reds one time I had them stuffed in the side boxes of my Avalanche. Only took us about 10 hours to clean them!
