The launch is nice.
Very convenient if you are fishing weeks bay. Short drive from Lafayette.

Be careful of debris in the water while running through canals.

Agree with Mako19 but beware when they r sandblasting and don't leave anything u need n back of truck. Sticky fingers there!!

X 2 debris can be bad on falling tide. I've caught some big cats in the canal if you scratch in the bay

i've been launching there this year... launch is pretty nice... above comments are correct though, a LOT of debris in the water. but it is a short, nice ride to weeks bay.

I would not launch there with a nice boat and vehicle....my podna launched there one time and got his black truck full of white paint overspray. If your trying to save time vs going all the way to the point launch at bayou patout. That is the launch right before you cross the new bayou patout bridge. I like to launch there cause most people that launch there a experienced fishermen not alot of rookies going joy ride holding up the launch like at the point.

Avery island boat launch is not a very far run to the bay either.

Never launched there....how is the landing and parking?

boggycreek 06-07-2013 02:40 PM

The ramp is ok , the parking is limited , but if your there early in the morning its fine.If you get there later in the day during the summer you may have to park on the side of the road.

Avery island dock is at the end of Avery island rd. (hwy 329). Right before you get to the toll gate to get on the island itself.

Cool I see it now...you right about it being on the hwy dont look like much room

boggycreek 06-07-2013 04:38 PM

I launch a 24' bay boat there and have no problems.

speck cc 06-11-2013 09:10 AM

speck-chaser 06-11-2013 09:54 AM
