Fishing in weeks bay

Looking to fish at the mouth of the Avery. Any word if they are catching? Anything would be helpful.

Goooh 06-10-2013 05:04 PM

Delcambre canal was producing recently, haven't heard anything on Avery. Would assume it would be too.

Last week had some reds around the north end off weeks bay but had to work through a lot of borderline fish to get keepers. Also had some flounder around the trash pile.

Aren't the Delcambre and the Avery the same thing?

The local gas stations sell frozen shrimp and should be open. The seafood store before you cross the bridge on the left but not sure when they open.

Went sat morning caught bout 15 reds only 1 was a keeper. All were bout .25 inch too short. Kept 2 flounder as well. Caught most on chartreuse gulp on a spinner. Working north banks of weeks.

Flip 06-11-2013 08:08 PM

Went today at the mouth work the bank for about three hours one red that was .25 short of 16. Caught two big nasty drum about twenty five to thirty lbs. Today was the slickest I ever saw the water in that area ever. All in all it was a great day to be on the water, better than bring at work.
