West Lake in Lake Charles

Hoping to make my first trip down to west lake soon. Does anyone have any information on West Lake they are willing to part with? I want to make a trip down there to fish w. lake and maybe big lake, and then hit some backwater in the kayak. I'm not trying to get an specific spots, just some general information and pointers for fishing it. PM me if you'd rather not post on here.

I've seen some bad speck kayak reports from West Cove.

Some decent reds being caught in the marsh from yaks.
