I Would Appreciate Some Feedback

I have an opportunity to obtain a duck hunting blind in the Grand Chenier area on the South side of Hwy 82 and west of the Rockerfeller Refuge. Just wanted some feed back on how the hunting is in that area. Just need a general opinion if you think it is Good, Fair, Poor ect. Thank you in advance for your feedback.

It depends year to year and on water but its usually really good around there. I'd do it. I hunt with a friend right behind booths and we do pretty good.

I have a buddy that hunts in that area you are talking about and he does very well

SULPHITE 07-15-2013 10:05 AM

Must be miller prop

SULPHITE 07-15-2013 10:06 AM

And it depends on what area u hunt...last couple of years have been spotty

meaux fishing 07-15-2013 10:14 AM

I would ask why the lease opened up. Most of the time the leases that are good in that area never open up. But if the price is right i'd probably do it just because of the potential that area has

Water=duck

If you can regulate your water in an out of your ponds an have a good crop of vegitation in your ponds you gunna smoke em. I got pandas in cheniere aux tige an they limit out the majority of the season.
Goodluck

I see you live in Meaux... If you ever want some help killing ducks down there I'd be more than happy to help you out. Just trying to be a good neighbor since I proably live right down the road from you;):D

Some people go years without the opportunity to acquire a lease... if you got the connections you might as well hop on board for the right price. no telling how long you will have to wait for a halfway decent place to open up.

If it is Miller property like Sulphite suggested, the property has been switching hands lately. Dude that owns my piece now lives in Chicago, IL and he is a descendant of the Millers. I think they split the property up to where each family member got their own chunk. I had to do a lot of negotiating to get my place back this year for a decent price. And a lot of people in my area weren't happy with prices and acreage minimums so they "claim" they weren't getting back in this year.

Yea there were definitely days where I had to put in extra work but they were there! Went down about a month ago or so and there were still plenty of birds out there. Gonna go back this week or next and see how its looking

ScubaLatt 07-22-2013 05:46 PM

how much are duck blinds in the marsh (not just the one referenced in this thread) going for?
