Repainted Outboard

My factory Mercury stickers were peeling so I pulled them off but decided I wanted something different. I repainted the whole motor and had some better quality decals made. I went with a matte black with gloss black decals.

Man that looks sweet! How much did it cost to repaint it? I would be interested in repainting mine eventually?

Thanks Josh

I would say with paint, thinner, sandpaper, decals and HVLP spray gun I am in it about $150. I did some research on the matte black hot rod finishes and found a lot of the Hotrodders use John Deere Blitz Black. So that is what I went with. Deere uses it on their tractor frames. It is an enamel with UV inhibitors.
It is a very tough paint. |
That looks good!

You ever thought about using this type of sticker? Attachment 53406
I had my neighbor that at the time worked at acme sign design and make that in a decal. It came out looking very good. I'm fixing to redo another one and hopefully can get the same decal made. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 |
