Attempted Robbery South LC

I went fishing yesterday and when I got back I had other things to do so my rods didnt go back in the shed, I just set them in the car port by the door to the house. My wife just called and said a white dodge crew cab with the chrome package pulled up to the house and tried to run off with all my rods.

Well these must be a special kind of criminals because I had three different sets of neigbors that were outside watching and one guy was able to threaten them and had them go put them back. I mean this was broad daylight at about 9:30 or so.

So just a heads up to everyone in south LC. This happened in University Subdivision.

2 white males, passenger was wearing like a khaki welders type shirt
white dodge crew cab
factory dodge chrome rims
may have had the longer bed

Lake Charles finest....glad you have good neighbors.

Lake Chuck Duck 07-20-2013 10:33 AM

Yep. Just spoke with the police officer that was at my house. He said the neighborhood on the other side of common had a garage robbery yesterday.

We have a lot of problems with people coming from beaumont and houston, hitting a bunch of spots, then going back to teaxas as well.

How many are a lot? How do you know they are from Beaumont or Houston? Congrats on getting your things back.

I'm not saying these guys were from Texas, matter fact I'm sure they were local. It was on the news a while back talking about the people coming from texas a robbing people then going back.

Supposedly some if the gangs out if Houston are "testing" this area. Someone is going to get killed before it is over.

Thanks for the heads up im right near you on the road next to old LCT. Gonna keep an eye out in my neighborhood. I've had multiple break-ins to the gf's car but they never took anything...always looked like they were going for keys. I plan on having cameras and security system installed before duck season. Cant risk it anymore around here....they love the university area

These clowns must have followed you home, too much of a coincidence for them to just "happen" by just after you drove up ...

Lake Chuck Duck 07-20-2013 03:13 PM

No I went to work around 6:30 this morning and this happened later on. I'm sure they were pretty obvious leaning on the wall when they were driving around looking for something to take. I placed them there yesterday evening. Its my own damn fault for being lazy.

My bro in LC warned me not to leave rods sticking above his fence line after rinsing them off (inside the fence) because he's had passers by reach over and take them. He's got three dogs and a pretty good security system and lives in a good part of town. Sitting in a boat in a covered and fenced area where the dogs have access and there is no direct view from the road, there are no problems.

I wouldn't dare leave rods or electronics in my boat anywhere in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, or Grand Isle or anywhere in between unless the boat is in a secured area. When we stop at Walmart or anywhere for more than 5 minutes, we leave someone in the car to watch the rods.

Lets see......

Park boat in drive way. Leave rods in plain view. Put climbing stand in front yard tree or sit in hidden chair in carport.

How long would you have to wait to catch a thief????????????

Honest Officer, it was selfdenfence, I was just defending myself.

Ray 07-25-2013 05:15 PM

I know a cop who had all his stolen out of his garage, in broad daylight, while he was home. Brave bastids.

Pull n Pray 07-26-2013 08:15 AM

That sucks. I guess they saw the rods laying there and just couldn't help themselves. That's pretty ballzy to do it at 9:30 in the morning. Did your neighbors get a plate number?

Lake Chuck Duck 07-26-2013 12:34 PM

Only a partial. He didn't have his contacts in.
