fishing the jetties

Just got a call from a bud who wants to go to Cameron Thurs to fish the jetties and South BL. Have fished Prien and Turner's a few times, but never got that far South. Any tips on where to go would be appreciated.

Depends on what you are chasing. If you are happy with bull reds and gafftops, I can put you on them, especially with a falling tide. Specks, flounder, and smaller reds are a mystery to me at the jetties, but there are plenty of experts on the board.

Well fish the jetty rocks on both sides, cast in close to them with a popping cork and some live shrimp / mullet.... you should be able to pick up some sheepshead, small reds, and possibly some trout. if that doesn't pan out look for area's that cause a little bit of a rip and try bottom bouncing them with a carolina rig with some live bait or an artificial. You should be able to stumble on something that will do keep you busy. :)
