Venice Blue Water
Made my yearly trip down to Venice, only to come back disappointed. This is the reality of fishing though. I will tell you that on Friday we found Blue Water at the MARS platform, but no tuna. Grass lines were starting to form up on the end of the day there. Did Find out that the tuna were 90 mi SE out the pass. After a freak accident Saturday that left a rig hook in my brothers leg we headed back to find the nearest hospital. Maybe next year.

Rig hooks are very dangerous. I use a rope with one end spliced and the other end open so the boat can pull it off if caught. Much better having a line shoot back at the boat instead of a chunk of steel or aluminum. That is only one of many ways they can hurt you. Rig hooks cause accidents. If I had my say they would not be allowed on boats.
Found some fish in dirty water at elf but the bite was over by 9:00. Still marked them for several hours but nothing I tried could excite any of them. |
We were in bluewater at MARS 2 weeks ago and no tuna. They had alot of gras out there too. It wasn't all bunched up, but there were decent size plots of it.

I'm new to this! I fished Venice this weekend and liked what I saw, had a decent trip! I am in the process of buying a 3300VX Hydra Sport and would like to hire someone to show me the ropes. Can anyone recommend anyone?
