How Rough is VB with 10 mph winds out the South

In what conditions would you cancel a trip to Marsh Island if you were crossing VB in a 21' Bay Boat? How rough is to rough? I want to go tomorrow...

A trip to the pass in 10 mph south winds will beat you up pretty good but it is doable in a 21' boat.

15 mph I would call it off.

Gotta go to know IMO, currents and tide play a role in how the wave action will be. I've gone on days when it was blowing S 10-15 and the water was okay, and others with similar S winds and it was rough.

S wind you shouldn't have a problem going to marsh island....
With an East wind the rollers will be tough being that you will get hit from the side. Your will get wet a little from the spray. But 21fter will do fine just crusie.

Whatever it was yesterday, I crossed in a 21 xpress. Three quarter throttle and no problem.

Crossed it many times, yesterday was one of the worst, that NE wind was a slammer!!!
Most times its good jsut pay atttention of current conditions and have faith in ya boat

I much rather ride the in between rollers than take them head on...but I have a 17 foot boat. ;) South wind in that size boat should not be an issue.

Thank fellas. We gonna try and go wet a line tomorrow

when I had my 17ft predator I rode btw them. Now I have 2Ift can ride on top no problem.

Talk about sucked when I left marsh island in 17ft boat headed north to the point with an strong east wind:eek::confused:

here is a Shot from Cote Blanche bay looking back at Marsh Island yesterday, wind was kickin pretty good, solid 3ft rollers, with a few big rouge waves mixed in. I was in a 21 ft boat and was totally comfortable, Wife would argue that point though.
