no boat. i get in the water with a 3/8" stainless steel rod with stringer tie to top end. gig flounder, grab gig under flounder, turn gig over and flounder slides to stringer.

Funny you say no boat bc the places I want to try I plan on doing it without a boat haha, thanks!
