NWR and National Forests Closed

I know there is another thread in the Fishing section but it turned into a big ordeal so I figured I would start a new one for the hunters to comment on and how it may affect them.

All of the NWR and National Forests are now closed... Kisatchie, Tensas, Lake Ophelia, Lacassine, Cameron Prairie, Cat Island, etc...

I got this from the linked story:

Dixson said all gates would be locked and signs would be posted at entry points where gates are not installed. Enforcement officers will be patrolling to ensure compliance, he said.

“If we see people, we will ask them to leave,” Dixson said. “We aren’t going to be in the business of writing tickets.”

Hopefully this doesn't last all season and these public hunting meccas like Tensas NWR are not affected too much

Rockerfeller is owned by the State so it should remain open as far as everything I've heard. Only Federal Property will be closed.

I agree with this. The Sportsman article was BS....

the atv trails are not open... but the forest is open for hunting!

Seems strange they would have enforcement officers on duty checking compliance. If they are on duty, why not open the gates? That does not pass the smell test.

Ha if they ain't writing tickets I'm hunting anytime I like! Everyone else should too! It's ridiculous that we are paying out the *** for taxes and can't hunt on the people's property! cause congress hasn't passed a budget! **** em bruh!
