Hey, get in your time machine and fast forward to November...That's 11...

ChrisR 11-06-2009 06:24 PM

W get your dates right.... We are not in Oct any more....

jchief 11-06-2009 06:24 PM

25

Me and a buddy picked up 25 today, but it was tough. If we did not catch 100 sandies, we did not catch one. They are really thick.

"W" 11-06-2009 06:35 PM

Yep them sandies are out of hand!!

I heard they'll be in next month's issue of Louisiana Sportsman.....

Hopedale Hustler 11-07-2009 11:37 AM

hows the water over there on yalls side?? everything is dirty over here right now for some reason...theres still small skool trout but its hard to find good trout right now..

Gerald 11-07-2009 11:44 AM

The Calcasieu river is a little high and very muddy and the water looks kind of stained. It will take a couple of weeks of dry weather to get back to normal conditions.

Ray 11-07-2009 11:46 AM

Yeah, right after Tropical Storm Ida.

Like em fresh.
They seem to get mushy if frozen for very long.

Ray 11-07-2009 02:48 PM

I never froze Sand Trout.
The more I catch, the more people I invite to eat.
I make sure I don't have any to freeze.
I have heard they are not good after being froze, but
I don't know that from experience.

jchief 11-07-2009 03:16 PM

???

You know Ray, I never tried em after freezing either (that i can remember) was always told they were mushy so never tried em. May have to give it a try. They have to have a few million of them things 10" or less.

The lake on the south end was clean and fairly salty.

Gerald 11-07-2009 07:20 PM

If you freeze the white trout in water, they will keep ok for a few months.

adamsfence 11-07-2009 09:53 PM

froze a bunch i caught in leeville they were ok but you had to set them out to defrost slow or they were real mushy....i would put them in the refrig. and let them thaw..that is what one of them old timers told me don't ask me why

trophytroutman 11-08-2009 12:22 PM
