I am planning to go shrimp and crab Saturday. If anybody goes this week give us a report and I will do the same this weekend.

RedfishPoker 10-08-2013 02:07 PM

NOPE! It's open as usual. Rockefeller Refuge is NOT under Federal. And, Rockefeller is operated by the State of LoUiSiAna.

Good luck on your shrimp trip, bgizzle! Let us know how shrimp report is.

Well..... A whole lot of nothing. Caught it late maybe caught 1 lb and used em to catch reds. Small reds no keepers. Went to mud hole, cement wier, LSU and a few others.

Jrchip1 10-08-2013 08:07 PM

No Shrimps @ Rollover either. Caught a bunch of big Reds along the beach between Rollover and Joesph Harbor.

T-Bone 10-08-2013 08:39 PM

That doesn't sound too promising. How was the tide while you were there? What's the best tide for castnetting? Incoming? Outgoing? Or just a moving tide?

We did okay this morning at JH for shrimp. Hit mud hole first and there must have been 20 people there.. they were small and sparse there... Then did okay at the cement wier from like about 9am till 11am.

Went to BL after that and worked on some trout/reds/flounder.. will post up a report on that tommorrow.

jldsc 10-09-2013 07:03 AM

the best i've ever seen it a the Rock was an outgoing tide to cast net for shrimp.
