Buras Beat Down!
 

Had to drop something off at Chevron in Venice for 530 this am. I stopped at my winter time secluded trout hole to see if they had showed up. Bad news is I don't think they are in full force just yet but boy were the reds. Caught 8 before 7 am and one lonely 18" trout. All on black/chart skitter. Catch and release. Man I love south La !!

Nice fish. Thanks for sharing and posting the pictures.

The reds should be finding the winter points now that we have had things cool off. They have been on the move and hard to find south of here. I will be working this area a lot more now that winter is here.

thats awesome!! cant wait until I get back to south LA. up here sucks. I finally had gotten the itch to hunt too bad the other day. hunted down a bateau on craigslist for $100 and was going to cabelas to get some decoys and licenses. luckily I stopped on the way to get the boat instead of on the way back because these fools wouldnt sell me a license because I gotta take hunters safety classes every 5 years. Are you kidding me!!! I was furious. so its back to the saltycajun to get my hunting/fishing fix

Glad I got out when I did. The gnats almost carried me away.

The area he fishes from shore is one area I refuse to fish from a boat. I feel it is one of the few good places the locals have to fish from shore and can not see taking what I consider their fish. I have access to so much more than they do by being in the boat. I have put that place off limits from a boat.
