Boat slips

How much does it cost to rent a slip at Herbert's or spicers?? We're getting serious this year!

you got to get on a waiting list first

Heberts 2K a year but you more than likely will not get one for the next 5-7 years unless you have a camp at Heberts or a guide

Boat slips available by the public launch. You will have to install you own lift.

What about spicers?

Kenner18 12-15-2013 07:37 PM

There may be one at spicers ,but you better call now cause they don't last long .

Okay cool. Any idea on price over there? Another thing I'm worried about is being forced to buy gas from them which is usually extremely e pensive compared to regular gas stations. How do most people keep their boats filled up? Would be major pain in butt to put it on trailer every time u want to fill up

I'm sure I could get an old chemical drum or something. This was my first instinct, was just curious what every one else does.

I used to have a stall at spicers. it was $1200 a year and you did not have to buy fuel from them. It was very convenient though to just pull up and fuel up. The price may have gone up since I gave it up to a friend 2 years ago. nothing beats pulling into stall washing boat and cleaning fish before you get home. I hate to clean fish or wash boat after the drive home and I am tired. One thing to consider, though, about a boat stall is that your boat will not last as long as it would on a trailer under a cover at your house. The salt water is very harsh on your boat, motor, and other gear. I recommend taking anything you don't want stolen home with you including net, fish finder/GPS, all rods/tackle boxes. Hell, I have even had my removable running lights stolen!

Think spicers has a waiting list I asked this past summer

ThePinkBanana 12-15-2013 10:49 PM

Yeah, I'm trying to decide if the convenience is worth the damage to the boat. Dragging boat and trailer around all the time is work, especially when you fish as much as I do.

Bumfisherman 12-15-2013 11:06 PM

I fish twice as much now that my boat is on a lift waiting for me. You will be amazed at the money you will save in fuel by not trails ring a boat. My truck gets 9 mpg towing and 17 without. That difference will pay for your rent

ScubaLatt 12-16-2013 12:35 AM

Good point, bum. I did fish about 2x more with boat in stall. You can always rent one of the boat sheds on the SW side of the Ellender bridge.

Kenner18 12-16-2013 04:44 AM

The stalls at spicers have different prices . I think they are 850 and 1200 depending on where they are. Most haul fuel in 5 gal cans if they don't buy it there. The fuel there is always 50 cents more a gallon than at the gas station .
