Land along the MS river leases for $25-30 an acre.

My FIL has 260 acres, they pay $8 an acre per year.
260 acres x's $8 = $2080 / 8 members = $260 person plus $5 a day to hunt for the food kitty.
You pay for your own food plots Everyone has 1 stand and the have a couple other stands throughout the lease plus a couple climbers. They kill about 5-10 a year.

I would say most leases or hunting clubs would probably range in the $400-$750 range... with some of the higher dollar clubs in the $750-$1500 range depending on the management and rules.
The lease I'm currently on I pay $350 but when I was looking most were around the $500 mark.
There are some really nice ones that you will see A TON of deer and have strict management with the potential to shoot a 140" deer or better... those are usually in the $1500-$3000 range
And you could always hit the Texas route... West Texas and North Texas probably in the $700-$1200 range... South Texas probably in the $2500-$10,000 range.
All depends on what you are looking for and what you are willing to pay for it.

Well I've discovered it's much harder to find a lease to get in than I thought...

You can in a hunting club for deer pretty easily, finding your own lease is the hard part. My Father in Law has been having his lease for 18 years. He leases from a private individual not a corporation. I'll ask for the guys number that he leases from and see if he has anything else in the area.

You are probably right in the Central Texas area but I haven't looked over there in a few years... I know a few people that still travel the 8-10 hours to what I consider "West Texas" and they are still paying $800-$1200ish plus the cost of a Texas License which I think is still $300.

Thanks...I'm not opposed to getting into a hunting club either though but all my family duck hunts and the couple cousins I have that are serious deer hunters are in a club in the St. Francisville area and they said there is pretty much never gonna be an opening there.
