Look at Dularge, follow Bayou Dularge South the Grand Pass, One side of Grand Pass is Sister Lake, the other side Lake Mechant.

ETA, just looked on Google Maps and its called Caillou lake....... no body around here calls it that.

It's a pretty clean bayou, watch out the reefs in Sister Lake some of them are shallow.

Nothing to worry about in Sister Lake.

Launch at Jug's landing at the end of the road on Bayou Dularge. Head south from the landing in Bayou Dularge. Watch for "no Wake" zones. You will get to the oyster boats where the road ends, then travel south with power lines on side of bayou. After 4-5 miles, you will get to another area of camps and a "No Wake" zone. Pass this up, staying in the bayou for another 2 miles and you will get to Grand Pass. Lake Mechant is on right, Sister Lake (Calliou) in to your left. Looks like a giant 4-way intersection. Can't miss it, just look for boats. Run the middle of the bayou and you are fine. Run the lake at your own risk on low tide. Oyster reefs marked with PVC pipes all over, but shallow water by banks is littered with crab traps and such.

Agreed

Finfeatherfur is dead on point as others. However, make sure you go to Jug's and not Falgoust Landing. Although Falgoust is a prime luanch is it easier and safer to get to Grand Pass from Jug's.

A first timer would never make it out of Raccouci going to Sister Lake!!!!!! LOL!

Also fellas anyone have a info on the coporation just north of cocodrie. I want to get a permit to fish that area

swamp snorkler 01-15-2014 03:27 PM

That would be the Harry Bourg Corporation, you don't need that. PLenty of good places to fish not on the Harry Bourg Property.

But if you insist..... http://www.harrybourgcorp.com/

DAMN you guys are good!! I have a hard time finding a fresh dog turd in my back yard!

If your running first time in Dularge u might want to get a guide. Especially this time of year. Best places to fish are deep bayous around merchant & sister lake if you don't know your way around you probably aren't going to have a great trip even worse if you try to venture in these bayous you might end up with a torn up prop or sleeping in the marsh. Water is real low this time of yr.

alphaman 01-16-2014 12:03 AM

I Wont be venturing out by myself, I'll be following someone that has a camp In area. He will show me around. He fishes around there pretty often so I should be good.

Thanks for all the info fellas
