Dularge, LA Weekend Update

With yesterday's frontal passage I encouraged my customers to reschedule, but it was simply entertainment they wanted so we hit the water in the gale force winds. We were met with what I anticipated in conditions such as these and it was exactly what we got, err...what we didn't get. Yep, we skunked. Zero, nada, scratch, goose egg. At least they caught a buzz. Moving right along. This morning was supposed to be dead calm as it was last night but once again the weather guessers failed miserably. Greeted with high winds and dirty water, I expected the same results as yesterday. Tucked in the marsh behind some rozos we found the end of the falling tide, and there was a bit of life. 1,2,3 trout came in quick then a red. We made several drifts through the same area sticking out the slack tide and managed to put meat in the box. My customers were satisfied and called it a day around noon. Hearsay has it that shrimp are beginning to show up in the lakes and the birds are gathering for the spring run. I hope it begins sooner than later. Stay tuned for the latest in the Bayou Dularge area! Attachment 64216
