Touch Screen GPS

I'm looking to add a new gps to my redfish rig. Wanting something with a bigger screen and possibly touch screen.. Just don't know which is best.. I've always had hummingbird on my flats boat but I know one of these bigger screens may be over kill but just like being able to have that bigger screen.

Any suggestions on which would be the best way to go. Where is the best prices to buy

I would suggest going to a bass pro or someplace that might have both. Hummingbird just came out with the onyx series of touch screen and of course lowrance has the hds touch.

Hummingbird or lowrance cant go wrong with either one.

Hummingbird is like apple simple.

Lowrance is like andriod, not as simple, it takes a bit more time to learn how operate

I have Lowrance in my big boat. I've thought of putting a smaller one in my mud motor boat but mine is tiller control and I just think it would be in the way. For the way I will fish out of it I don't think its really necessary for depth. I mostly wanted it for the GPS. I decided just to stick with my hand held GPS. If I did install one it would be Lowrance Elite4 not a touch screen. I don't like to touch the screen when fishing.

Look at the Simrad NSS units. Run off of a rotary dial with buttons (old school) AND touch screen too. Sweet unit.

Rotary dial allows adjustment while running chop - tough to do with a touch screen only unit.

I put one on the grab handle of my mudboat. Worked out perfect.

Get one that will accept the Standard Mapping chips and be done with it. Those maps are awesome!
