Any one fish around Point Au Fer on here?

Just wondering if there were any members on here that fish out of Berwick landing or the surrounding areas

I'm from Morgan City. I have fished the four league bay/atchafalaya bay area my entire life. Point au fer is like home to me! When you factor in the 40 mile boat ride from the dock in berwick or morgan city and being that close to the river it makes for tough fishing a lot of times. It's tough to find clean water in that area because of the river, but when the weather is right and the river is down you can load the boat with specks in the summer.

I grew up hunting in Palmetto Bayou and fishing around Halters. Went out to the island twice this month but only hooked up with one bull red. I have always missed the specs out there for some reason. I agree that when the water and weather is right the reds are easy to get on.

Use to have a camp out there back in the day down Louust Bayou. Those were some great days for sure. The river has changed so much down there i would probably not know how to get there!

I do make an annual hunt around Shell Island each year.

The most fun we would have is running thru Point Au Fer to Oyster Bayou at a friends camp. Once the sun went down, off to Mardi Gras for the nighttime trout! That my friends, is the BEST!
