I helped Capt. Marty Lacoste today with a 3 boat charter. Definitely a day most decided to stay home. Very windy this morning and the water dropped significantly due to the strong north winds. The guys were from all over so it was a go regardless of conditions. Mike, Jacob, and Danny joined me on the new Bluewave. A lot of people would probably tuck there tails and run straight to redfish holes but not us. The trout were hiding so we took off to seek them. The first stop was a bust. Water was clean enough but it just wasn't protected enough from the 20-25mph winds. We didn't stay long because it was evident we weren't going to catch. We ran into the marsh and found a nice pile of speckled trout willing to eat our Matrix Shad Green Hornet. The trout were holding in 6-8ft of water. We put 20 on ice in no time and the light switched off. We worked the area over because it was nice and protected. We picked up a few trout here and there and then one cut paid off real nice. We doubled up on trout as soon as we pulled up. Within a couple of minutes we doubled up on redfish. We sat at the cut and caught 7 reds with 5 making the box and a nice bass. With rain closing in we took off and hit another spot for a couple more trout before calling it a day with showers baring down on us. Not a bad box of fish today with such terrible conditions.
