K&N air filter
Installed one about 4 months ago. Was curious on how to clean it. Do I need to purchase the 15 dollar bottle of cleaner or will light soap&water do the job?

409, fantastic, or any all purpose cleaner will work. I've done it this way for 10 or so years.

Id use what is recommended, the k n cleaner comes with a cleaning solution u spray om then you have to spray that protective pinkish coating back on after its clean. And let it dry.

If you don't put a more free flowing exhaust you just as soon stay with a stock filter. With true dual glass packs and k&n filter I got 2mpg more out of my Nissan frontier.
