Bittersweet

I just sold my boat in less than 24 hours for a couple hundred under asking price. Im thinking I should have asked for more. The old saying, "The 2 best days of a boat owners life is the day he buys it and the day he sells it" is total bullcrap. I'm definitely going to miss it, but toys need to be sacrificed with another baby on the way.

Thanks Gunner. I'll keep that in mind when I need to scratch the itch.

you can always buy another boat. Take care of the family and save what you can towards the new and improved!!!! :)

I'm getting a mud hull built for my Prodrive so I'll be able to do some fishing. I'll just be limited to what I can do now. Hopefully in a year or 2 I can get another bay boat.

that's normal, everyone thinks if it sells you didn't ask enough and if it doesn't its not because its over priced but rather they just cant appreciate what a great value it is lol.

maybe wait a few years when they are out of diapers then tell the wife you need a new boat to take the kids fishing so she can have some peace and quiet around the house

:rotfl::rotfl:... I probably would have thought the same thing if it didn't sell! Overall, the fact that I sold the boat for twice what I paid for it helps a little! I think the wife was more upset to see it go then I was. We haven't had time to get out on the water in over a year, so I'd rather sell it then have to look at it when I get home form work and wish I had time to go fishing.

Ive been enjoying my mud boat more than my bay boat...plenty of good fishing spots for good mudboat!

Yep I felt the same way. Boat with no time to use it. I sold that boat a few months ago and I've fished for a few hours one morning out of the yak since. Other priorities always get in the way..

But at least I know I'll be retiring in 30-something years so I have that to look forward to..

Congrats on the second kid... I say your old lady made it FB official the other day!

Matt G 05-13-2014 09:39 PM

Thanks Chip! She couldn't wait to put it on FB.
