BL wade fish gear?

I was looking at trying some wade fishing out at BL but was unsure what gear everyone tends to bring. In the past I've just gone out with guides in the port Mansfield area so there wasn't waders and such.
Can anyone give a good overview of what I need to purchase?

If you are wading wet all you really need is a wading belt with a stringer and pliers, an over the shoulder wading box and some good wading shoes. You might also want to take a wading net or a boga grip.

A hunters orange cap or a beanie with a flashing light on top wold be helpful

Can anyone shed some light onto some areas other the east bank? Am I wasting my time even trying to wade fish right now? Typically you hear good reports around January time frame.

I hear the wading is pretty good in the ship channel and ICWW

Too many stingrays and gafftops in the summer in the lake for me to wade .
