Golden Retriever Breath Issues

1 Attachment(s)
So our 6 1/2mo old Golden Retriever has terrible breath. When me and my wife are sitting on the couch, we can smell her breath from across the couch. It smells like dead fish. She hasn't gotten into the trash or drinks from the toilet. Her teeth are white with no noticeable tartar buildup as well as her gums that are a healthy pink. She's on Southern States puppy food from a local co-op here in Virginia. We spray Arm&Hammer Advanced Pet Care Dental Spray on her top and bottom gums every other night but it's not really helping. It really comes when she's panting while sitting still. Am I stuck smelling her stank breath?

Our golden is 5 months old and we do not have a problem with bad breath. We feed her purina puppy chow.

We had to ween her off of purina. It made her throw everything up and gave her the water poops for about 2 weeks.

try giving her some chew bones.

Go to the VET. May be a periodontal disease or stomach issue. Purina should not give ur dog the squirts.

She's been to the vet multiple times and all systems are good to go. Now if only my wife can get that memo and stop using my credit card for every vet visit. I did however pick up some water additive that claims to not make their breath smell bad. Only time will tell.

some dogs just have bad breath, just like some people always have stinky breath. they make doggy mints and junk but its usually just a temp fix that wears off really quick. if you find out a cure for this make sure to post it. i know some dogs with bad breath and it would help a lot of people!

My golden retriever has the same issue, I think its a girl problem hence the rotten fish smell...mine is also a girl..Nice pup!

I use greenies. I usually give them to mine once a month. I'm sure it's not a cure but it seems to help.
