Toledo Bend Smackdown 7/19-20
2 Attachment(s)
Headed up to the camp to do a little guys weekend tournament. I was able to put 3 of my friends on some great summer fishing. 43 keepers hit the deck over the weekend with well over that in throwbacks. Early morning topwater was extended til about 730 with cloud coverage. All other fish were caught in 25 to 35 ft range around Indian Mounds, Pirates, and Hausen. Biggest two went 5.42 and 4.3 lb with several in the 3lb range. Finding the afternoons to be better for size here lately with more numbers being caught in the morning.

I fish the same all the areas you described but with much less success! I have been playing with football head jigs in deeper water when the wind will allow.

Key for me has been to find hydrilla edges next to steep drop offs. It becomes sparse around 17 ft. Bass are keying into the grasslines esp if there are stumps or some kind of structure in depths around 25 ft next to these edges. |
