You think this will work?

Don't see how it could hurt. Where did you find those? What brand?

just by looking at it I see it may not spin well because of the angle of how its mounted and where the swivel pin is at, then add the plastic swimbait body and I think its very close to hitting the blade so I think it wouldn't spin very well but you wont know for sure unless you try it.

myself I prefer to use the clip on spinner blades so I can swap jig colors and bodies quickly plus its easy to switch from round to leaf blades quickly.

Looks like a saltwater version of a roadrunner......I never had any luck with a roadrunner so maybe a saltwater version might work....

drilled small hole in back of head with small bit. Use a drill press please. On one end of swivel I close the loop with pliers so I don't have to drill a big hole. I need to get my solder iron back from a buddy to see if I can melt the end back closed to hold the swivel. I have used the little wire forms that they make but wanted it short for flounder. There are a few made like this but the are pricey like $ 1.50+ each. The redfish one at academy is a little long for what I like. The jig-wire-spin on left side is a Owner Flashy swimmer 2 for about $6.00. I bought most of these parts from Barlows Tackle. I use 65 lb braid and a medium rod and set the hook hard to make sure I get good penetration. I need to make up about a hundred and I will be set for flounder fishing.

I think your design would work great by making the wire longer with an eye on the end so its about 3/16"-1/4" below the head then add the swivel to the eye so the swivel part is horizontal and it will spin very easy and effortless.

your idea is great I just thing the spacing and such needs tweaking a tad

not yet. I found my big soldering gun and put some solder on the holes to hold the swivel in the head. Hope to get out next week and try them for flounder. I may try to bend some small wires and insert in the drilled hole and give the swivel a little length. Headed to my neighbors pool to try them out first. I bought a frog at Academy I need to try also.

Saw some very similar to this at Cajun Tackle the other day. Think they called it a "flounder spin" maybe?

Sweet. I've caught many a white perch on similar rigs (road runners). Only problem is with real light jig heads they don't spin as well.

never thought of a spinning blade for flounder. have i been missing out? would an inline spinner be effective?

Just slow roll a redfish magic. Works wonders at times

Get the small gold blade H & H spinner packs (3) and use a 1/8 oz jig head with a yellow [with red dot] grub.

Throw it up near the bank with a slow retrieve. Be ready...... a big Red might take the bait also.

tried the 1/8 ox with #3 willow and it will spin but not much. Removed the willow and replaced with #2 Colorado blade and it spins a lot easier and at most speeds. I will get some .20 to .30 wire and make a link to head like the Owner Flashy swimmer. I think the willow will work better with the wire arm to extend it farther back. Now to find some wire. Will report back when tested out.

Added a wire .013 SS but is flimsy. I need to order some about .020 wire or just keep looking. Made 5 of these to try next week in Sabine lake. If anybody sees some .020 wire or close that size please post or pm me please. I went to Daileys today in Nederland today and this is all he had. I have used the flashy swimmer a few times and let the hook swing free but at 2 for $6 in the oyster reefs?

looks nice but have you considered making the wire come out more straight down so it only needs to be about 1/4" to 3/8" long?

might simplify things and reduce the tail strikes I think you might get with the spinner located at the tail end of your swimbait
