Tuna steak!

My sister got 2 pretty nice sized tuna steaks from her boss. Just wondering how long they will stay good in the freezer once frozen? I've heard they don't last long when you freeze em?!

no freeze!

I've eaten them after being frozen in water and it was fine.
Not as good as fresh but still better than most fish even after a freeze. Oh and black fin taste just fine.

if they are vaccum sealed its ideal. Ive eaten a yellowfin steak that was a year old and it wasnt as good as fresh, but pretty close. You actually should never put your tuna in water it will degrade the quality

vacuum pack is fine... no water

X2 that's what I was always told. No water. Vacuum seal. I have also eaten frozen tuna months later and still tasted awesome.

Ice Glaze fish! Freeze on a baking sheet or plate for ten or fifteen minutes, take out and dip in ice water, back in freezer for another ten, dip and place on other side (equal ice glaze) back into freezer for a few then simply toss into a Ziploc or wrap in freezer paper.

The best sushi tuna you can buy has been frozen down to some seriously low temps as a requirement...

Vacuum seal or ice glaze like cajun says and you should be good for a bit.

With Meaux. That is how we do it.
