Swp 7.22.14

New outboard installed and finally got a chance to stretch her legs across the bay. Bay water nasty, SW pass better, T-butte so-so. Lots of white trout and gaff tops on all the reefs I fished. Caught at least two limits of specks (all 10") on Caldwell. Gaff tops were ridiculous under the birds in the pass. Kept two slot reds off the pass reefs, and enough fresh white trout for dinner. A little choppy coming back across, but not bad. Nice day on the water. All fish on green sparkle beetle on the bottom and white gulp under a clacker cork.

Thanks for the report. We had the same trip about 2 weeks ago.

Good stuff, getting into a pile of gafs like that is great practice for the young ones. Sit back and just let them fight while you coach until their arm hurts!

Nice day to be out there

We went out yesterday too & ended up with 34 specks & 18 white trout. We had something that afternoon so we left at 11:30 but could have stayed & picked through more of them. I bet we caught over 100 fish, just had to weed through the dinks. The kids & wife were having a blast.
