Patterned my shotgun
So I just got a beretta a400 xtreme unico and I ordered a patternmaster code black duck. This choke with a 3.5" she'll is a modified. I just patterned it with 3.5" BB hevi metals. I shot 3 shots at 40 yards and counted 74, 89, and 87 bb's in a 30 inch circle. There were a total of 125 bb's in the shells so my average pattern was about 67%. Is this pretty good or is it poor? I read that ideally you want 70-75% which I am not far from.

Can't answer your question but I have one for you. Did you pattern your gun before installing the patternmaster code black duck?
I'd be very interested in knowing how the gun performed with the factory tubes. |
No I didn't. I just wanted to see how that combo worked before the season started.

I always found factory choke that best fit my shooting, Modified is my all time fav. I've hunted with guys that have these patteren master chokes I just can't justify spending that for a little improvment, although some guns won't patteren and you have to go after market.

patternmaster was crap in my extrema2. however kicks high flyer in my A400 is really good

The patternmaster in my SuperNova is bad to the bone. Less cripples. Had down. And let a duck land on the water.

Get down, cover up, and call them in closer. That's my opinion. Use the extra money for fancy chokes to buy shells....

I don't wanna start a fight here because as far as anyone is concerned nobody else knows anything. But I've killed my share of ducks. And with my Patternmaster versus without I get more dead birds and less cripples. And the third shot that usually ends up wasted or just not shot is now a legitimate kill shot.
