I got lucky last time I had jury duty. It was last year around this time when we had the ice storms and they canceled court around lunch time and we all got to go home. Everyone that had an "excuse" or "hardship" had to return another time, those of us that stayed served our civic duty.. Hope for some bad weather...

I feel ya! We went to NOLA a couple of weeks ago and when I got home the wife went to check the mail. BAM! Summons for Jury duty on January 12th! The day after my birthday! Im sure I'll feel like listening to a bunch of lawyers while im slightly hungover....

Jury duty comes with big checks. Enough to buy a box of chicken.

Just tell em you're biased toward the minority...

You'll be off of jury duty but, there may be protests in front of your house later and, maybe a little looting!

Son got a new rifle for Christmas, great opportunity to teach how to lead a target

I never minded doing jury duty. I always figured if I had to be in front of a jury, I want the best 12 I can get.

Have lived in 3 different parishes and have been called up once for each, but never gotten past the preliminary stages.

Christmas came in the mail from my Parrish

I received one of each for town and county in late October. City court of one day lasted from 8:00 am till 3 pm and one jury of 6 was still in court when we were excused. The county I put off till January. The worst one I ever had was in dove season and it lasted for 6 days. I was on my four days the first part but started my eight day break on the last part. The judges grand daughter was graduating Saturday and we got out Friday at 1:30 pm and came back Monday for 2 hours.
