Cutting hole in bench seat

Looking for advice or ideas. Would cutting a 10x16 or 18 inch access hole in front or back side of a bench seat cause any structural problems? I'd like to cut a hole to allow more storage. Would I have to reinforce the cutout or would it be good as is.

I would reinforce it just to be sure but thats just my opinion

Leave a few inches on top and cut to one side not in the middle it should be fine

Let Hoe at Southside do it. He usually adds structure inside seat to insure integrity of seat.

I second the Joe at south side. He's fast and does quality work. He rebuilt the nose on my boat and it was done the day after I dropped it off. Looks like factory
