which bay boat?

which bay boat do you guys have? what you like about them and what price range is it in? I fish Toledo and big lake equally. kind of looking at the nautic star 22 sport mainly because its closer to my price range. thanks!

Go to Lake Area Marine and talk to Kyle about the Frontier boats. Well made, very dry ride and a great price point.

X2 on what he said

Thanks guys. What do y'all think of nautic star? Also I would much rather deal with lake area than jerrys. Does the frontier come in 22 ft?

With a 8'3 beam it feels plenty big.
It's only 8" shy of 22.

I have the 2110 Nautic Star and like it alot. the Frontier and Nautic Star are close in price. I prefer the 1/2 step up om the front deck but the frontier has a massive storage compartment up front.

Shop around and see who gives you the best deal if you like both if them. if you live in the LC area you will likely go with LAM and the Frontier. Heard nothing but good things.

Frontier vs Nauticstar

I have a 19 Frontier (and I covet Alphaman's 2104) and I have a bud who has a 22ft. Nauticstar. We often fish out of each other's boats and we are both convinced that my Frontier takes the chop better and is dryer than his 22 Nauticstar. Now when it comes to taking waves head on with a big chop, his extra 3 ft. length definitely makes for a smoother ride than my boat cuz it's easier to stay on plane with the extra length. Both are pretty good boats, but if you're thinking of 21-22 ft, I would definitely take a hard look at the 21 Frontier.

Good luck with your choice.

I also just bought a 2015 Frontier 2104 from Kyle at LAM w/175 zuke. Highly recommend them. If someone stole my boat tonight, I'd be there tomorrow morning getting another one just like it!

I have a NauticStar 224 XTS. lots of storage, dry ride, plenty of room to fish.

The Frontiers are very nice. That boat was on my short list. Nothing bad to say about it. I went with the Key West 210 Bay Reef. The main reason I chose the Key West was the walk-in console (port-a-potty for the ladies when we're cruising with family). Plus it has a ton of storage. Both the Frontier and the Key West are 21' and some change. Both are fairly light (The Frontier is 1795 lbs., the Key West is 1900 lbs.). This means you can power it with a 150, 175 or 200 four cylinder and save some cash. Most true 22' boats are heavier and require more power. I love my Suzuki 175 as I know most of the Frontier guys on this forum do. A few pics of my Key West:

nice!

Good looking rig.
Key West makes a solid boat.

Natural Light Kid 01-27-2015 11:08 PM

I had a key west 216 Bay Reef. Key west does make a good boat. I was close to going with the 210 instead of the Frontier.
